Friday 10th November

Went to see The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band at The Phil tonight.  Ian has long been a fan and I went in tow.  A lot of this kind of humour misses me by miles but it was quite entertaining.  Of course, I would have loved to have seen Viv Stanshall in action.  His weirdness just seemed natural whereas with some it can seem forced.  I don't think the band are much without him but Ian enjoyed the night and I enjoyed the fact that he enjoyed it.  How selfless of me!

Maybe I'm, destined for a life of just not getting it...?

(Ian is sitting there now, reciting Sir Henry at Rawlinson End because I happened to mention Vivian Stanshall- I think he knows every word off by heart..."....he was the real author of a pictorial history of gargling, he died of chrysanthemum poisoning, they strapped a bloom to his body and it came out all blotchy..." !!

We happened to be seated next to Mike McCartney and John Gorman.  That's all I have to say about that as we didn't speak to them, just looked and whispered in their general direction.
